Abstract

The study tends to observe the effects of workplace ostracism on different job outcomes with special emphasis on moderating effect of psychological capital and political skill. To find out the impact of psychological capital and political skill on the relationship between workplace ostracism and job outcomes (job stress and turnover intentions), survey questionnaire was administered and distributed among a sample of 180 employees working in different organizations of Pakistan. Data collected through questionnaire is analyzed. Analysis of the data shows that workplace ostracism is positively related to job stress and turnover intentions. However, the relationship between workplace ostracism and job outcomes is weaker when psychological capital and political skill was high. As this study has proposed moderating impact of psychological capital and political skill on the nexus between workplace ostracism and job outcomes (job stress and turnover intentions), this can also be seen with other organizational consequences.
